Here's to all

...the passive agressive nitwits
...the people (read: students) who won't take any personal responsibility ("Miss! He was distracting me that's why I got a 32% on the test!" No you knucklehead - you LET yourself get distracted. Honestly.)

Wait. Stop. Let's end the rant that was about to stop. I'm going to focus on the best thing that happened today. It's so small, but...

There's one kid in my class who seriously underacheived last quarter. You want to know how bad you ask me - let's leave it at it was BAD.

This quarter he has 100% on the one quiz, and a 96% on the test and he has done all his homework. Almost. We'll get to that one in a second.

Anyway, Underachieving Andy (name changed to protect the innocent) has been bopped on the head by me at least twice this quarter. Mostly because I am SO DAMN PROUD of what he's been doing so far. I berate him to the tune of "Good lord, [Underachieving Andy] what were you doing last quarter? You knucklehead!"

So today, I'm checking off homework, and the former Underachieving Andy, presently Achieving Andy, doesn't have it. I must have looked disappointed cause he actually seemed to really care what I thought of him. He was afraid of disappointing me! I don't know if you guys can appreciate how incredible a feeling that is...but lord help me that kid is fantastic.

And he knows if he misses a homework assignment again he's toast.

Ok, and on that note I'm gonna try the sleep thing. Last day tomorrow - whee!
